4.  Click here to download "Feudalism in the Middle Ages" video sheet. You can print and write on this sheet or edit the PDF. (Click here for a tutorial on how to edit a PDF.) This sheet is for your use.  I suggest getting a manila file or binder to hold the sheets you get for The Whipping Boy unit. *Don't forget you will also need a binder or notebook to use a reading journal this year.*

3. Click here to watch "Feudalism in the Middle Ages" video..  Follow the directions on the video to fill out the sheet.

4. Use the video to answer the questions that follow.

5. You will need the Whipping Boy Vocabulary chart for tomorrow's LS.  If you have received your supplies, you can find it in the Guidebooks pack.  If you have not, click this link to download the chart.  Make sure you have it printed or ready to edit for tomorrow.

Unit Goal:

  • Students read literary and informational texts to understand the class system of the Middle Ages through the fictional tale of two unlikely friends, Price Brat and his whipping boy. Students express their understanding by synthesizing the knowledge they gained about the history of the Middle Ages to study how the actions and changes in characters affect the events in a text and the development of a theme.

Objectives:

  • Build knowledge of the Middle Ages through research.
  • Read, discuss, and write about texts.
  • Write a response that analyzes events and characteristics to determine the theme of this novel.
    • Don't miss Live Sessions so that you can successfully meet these objectives.
