Black History Month Project

This month you will be working on a Black History Month Project. You will have all month to complete this project. Due Friday, February 25, 2022. This project contains two parts. 1. You will choose a black veteran from the given list, research him or her, write a short biography about his or her life. DOWNLOAD ---> ***Black Veteran Biography Organizer*** 2. Unit: The Lightning Thief Unit goal: Students read literary and informational texts to understand traditional stories that focus on common patterns in literature, specifically the quest. Students express their understanding of how literature helps us make sense of the world, and how literature from the past influences our current lives and contemporary stories. Objectives:
By the end of the Unit... Students will write a multiparagraph essay in response to the question: A quest is a search for something and is a commonly used motif in literature around the world. Explain how the quest motif is part of The Lightning Thief. Describe Percy’s goal, the challenges he faces, and how he changes along the way.
Student will write a multiparagraph essay that demonstrates an understanding of the text and uses proper grammar, conventions,s pelling, and grade-appropriate words and phrases. Include examples of how Percy and his friends use their knowledge of mythological gods and their actions to help them on their quest. Use linking words (e.g., another, for example, also, because) to link ideas. Grade 4: Lightning Thief
